How do we differentiate between knowledge and wisdom and apply them in our life.
Knowledge and wisdom have quite a bit in common and a basically used as noun that are related to learning.
Knowledge is defined as “Acquainted with facts, Truths, and
principle.” It is generally gained through research and delving into facts.
Wisdom is described as being wise, having power, and judging properly as to what is right and wrong.
Wisdom is typically gained from experiences acquired
overtime. As both of them are synonyms they don’t overlap too much.
The primary difference between the two is that wisdom
involves an ability to make judgments about a subject while knowledge is
simply knowing. It is wisdom that requires more understanding and ability which
facts are relevant in certain situations.
Knowledge is knowing what to say whereas wisdom is
knowing when to say. It is also about knowing when and how to use knowledge
being able to put the situation I perspective and how to transfer it to others. “Knowledge
is knowing Tomato is fruit and wisdom is knowing not to put in a fruit salad.
If I were to reflect on my capabilities around these two
I would generally get pulled by wisdom and not only get engaged and depending
on knowledge.
It is important that we are able to differentiate and
make appropriate choices based on our context culture and understanding.
Knowledge is more dry and limits your ability to feel or
be compassionate in an empathic manner.
Wisdom also leans towards a spiritual choice whereas knowledge
leans towards the man in a day to day
activities in life.
Knowledge may lead to stagnation whereas wisdom may lead
to renewed and rehabilitation.
Knowledge can be gained collectively whereas wisdom is
more of an individual phenomenon. It comes individually to each person.
Knowledge is more objective and wisdom is more
subjective.
In our efforts to be perfect, we lose the way on either
side.
