Decoding Respects vs. Regard
Many times we mix up the concept of regard and respect. However, they are two different aspects and hold two different meanings in the way we relate to human beings.
Regard
is a gesture that is more interested and it is exhibited for the roles ad
positions that people have. However, respect is an internal feeling and
vibration for who the individual is.
Richard
Branson says respect is how to treat everyone, not just those who want to
impress when we think of reflecting. We ask ourselves how well we relate to
someone who is on a lower hierarchy than me.
Respect
is an attribute and feelings towards an individual and it’s not related to
position or age.
We
can show respect to anyone irrespective of who the person is depending on our
own definition that we have towards respect and regard.
Technically,
each individual needs to be equally respected with positive thoughts and
behavior radiated towards them.
Regard
is more formal according to the roles positions and hierarchy that exists in a
group or organization.
Hence,
regard for roles and positions should not be clubbed with respect.
We
extend regard for an individual’s age, knowledge, success, wealth, and roles.
However, respect for people cannot change based on their roles.
Respect
is attributed to human beings for their qualities and nature, it is likely that
you may have differences of opinions with each other. However, you engage in a
respectable relationship.
People
can be respected for their behavior without being questioned about who they are.
Connect
to people who they are before connecting to the roles they play in pursuit of
building an authentic relationship.
Your
vibration and thoughts and words may be the same if you respect them equally.
If
I were to examine how I hold these two worlds in my mind this clarification
is allowing me to differentiate between how I respect people or regard them.
Just
a thought for reflection for you.
