Is Staff there forever or Transient?
The conversation in most of the social, professional, and personal groups is around “Oh God! How to find the right people?”
Earlier times there was a culture in homes and offices
that staff stayed forever. Loyalty to the bosses of the organization was the
primary motive and people felt very guilty ditching the boss or the owner of
the house.
There were emotional messages that were sent to them about
how much is invested in their careers and jobs and therefore the subordinate
has to feel obligated and stuck to that role or job forever.
Earlier also the world was in separate regional
boundaries, countries, and continents. Now it has become an open world and open
economy where movement and transition have become very easy.
People feel stuck, bored, and suffocated in the same job if
they are there for years.
In the aspiration to move ahead, the loyalty factor is not
considered at all but the person's need is primary.
Hence, it has become a world with a lot of opportunities
lot of movement and new people a new staff coming in all the time.
The replacement cost to an organization's home or a family
is a factored cost in every system. For example, in the IT industry employees moves
job every 3 months and there is a high turnover.
So what do homes and organizations do to deal with this
reality? There is an information overload where at a click of a button you know
there is a job available in Timbuktu.
Families also accept that these decisions this choice are
made for personal and professional growth.
Couples are willing to live apart and only meet on
weekends if the benefit is much higher than the cost.
There is a whole shift in the mindset of each individual
system or organization.
Relationships also have become temporary and transient
without much baggage.
How do you deal with this reality of today’s times?
